Peugeot 205 GTI

The Peugeot 205 GTi is an iconic 1980s hot hatch celebrated for its featherlight chassis, telepathic handling, and rev-happy engine. Often cited as one of the greatest driver’s cars ever built, it transformed the everyday economy car into a thrilling performance icon.

The build

We didnt get too many pictures of the build of this GTI unfortunately which is a shame because it turned out really well. We fitted a roof from a donor vehicle as the original had a poorly fitted aftermarket sunroof. A new front panel was fitted amongst other small parts. During the rebuild the customer supplied us with the freshly rebuilt engine and gearbox. during the run-in period we found sand in the engine and a leak on the gearbox. As per the customer request we rebuilt them again in house to concours condition.

Paintwork

The little pug was painted in-house to the factory white and it looks amazing against the factory red carpets. The bottom was coated with factory style stoneguard to protect it for another 30+ years!
